Put the record
in public view.
Ask for the consultation findings, the submissions that can lawfully be released, and a clear explanation of how the evidence informed the rules.
Read the evidence → read the exact petition → decide whether either participation route is right for you.
The petition in 30 seconds
Three requests. No hidden fourth ask.
These are the same three requests printed in the formal petition below, surfaced first so the page is easy to scan.
Consultation findings and submissions that can lawfully be released.
How material concerns raised in consultation were addressed.
The evidence and reasons supporting the final rules.
Make the evidence and reasoning easier for the public to inspect.
It asks for consultation findings, releasable submissions or summaries, how material concerns were addressed, and the evidence and reasons supporting final choices.
It does not assert an automatic right to every internal record.
B.C. Reg. 570/2004 creates consultation and ministerial-analysis duties, but it does not itself require public release of every submission or Council’s ministerial analysis.
Online support is not the formal Legislative Assembly petition.
The formal route requires original paper signatures. An decides whether to present it, and presentation does not guarantee debate, disclosure or regulatory change.
