Find Your B.C. MLA
Use the Legislative Assembly’s official directory to identify the MLA for your constituency and their published contact information.
Open official MLA directory ↗CONTACT PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND THE REGULATOR
Choose the office that fits your question. Provincial offices and the Insurance Council are closest to the B.C. RIA framework; federal contacts are listed separately for related federal issues. The builder creates editable correspondence and leaves the decision to send it with you.
The Council rule consultation has closed, but members of the public and affected businesses can still contact elected representatives and the regulator. This page provides official routes for B.C. MLAs, the provincial Finance Minister, the Premier, the Insurance Council, MPs, the federal Finance Minister and the Prime Minister. Federal offices are secondary contacts because the B.C. RIA licence itself is provincial. This page does not claim that correspondence guarantees a response, policy change or formal legislative record.
OFFICIAL CONTACT DIRECTORY
Start with the provincial office or regulator responsible for the B.C. record. Federal contacts are included for related federal questions and are clearly labelled as secondary jurisdiction.

Step 1 · Recipient Selection
Click a recipient to target your request. Each office receives the identical audit questions with its official salutation.
B.C. MLAs represent specific electoral districts (constituencies). Open the official directory to identify your constituency representative and published contact information, then paste the address below if you want the builder to prepare the email link:
Step 2 · Statutory Business Class
The regulation establishes 18 distinct classes. Selecting your class automatically inserts your industry name and statutory product family into the evidence request.
Step 3 · Evidence Questions
Every checked question requests a specific baseline, denominator, or cost methodology from the relevant office. All 9 are included by default.
Step 4 · Review and Edit
This text updates live as you change selections above. You can also edit the text directly before emailing or copying it. Nothing is sent until you choose to open your mail app.
EVIDENCE REQUEST COPY
Review the exact questions in the default template. Edit, copy or send only the wording you choose.
Subject: Request for evidence and implementation details - B.C. Restricted Insurance Agency framework I am writing to request clarification and publication of the evidence supporting the B.C. Restricted Insurance Agency framework and its implementation. In particular, please identify or publish: 1. The analysis calibrating the proposed 30% compensation-disclosure breakpoint. 2. The consumer outcome(s) that will define success, and the outcome(s) that would trigger review or adjustment. 3. The B.C. pre-implementation baseline for affected businesses and consumers. 4. The final expected direct compliance cost by business size, including licence, training, E&O, systems and staff time. 5. The implementation and monitoring model, including whether DMS or transaction-level data will be required and who will perform monitoring or enforcement. 6. The jurisdictional evidence reviewed, including what was learned from New Brunswick after its 2023 implementation. 7. The analysis of competitive effects across OEM-affiliated and independent third-party product channels. 8. Any rule, policy, insurer requirement, or analysis that would change the duration, renewal, or re-enrolment of creditor life, disability, Critical Health (critical illness), or job-loss coverage, including any one-year term requirement. 9. Any economic-impact analysis covering employment, payroll, dealership profitability, lender effects, tax bases, product availability, and where reduced dealer remuneration is expected to flow. I am not asking you to accept a forecast of harm or benefit. I am asking for the evidence, denominators, assumptions and evaluation criteria so the policy can be assessed against measurable outcomes. Thank you.
